These police officers tried to dress up as black bloc members in order to infiltrate the legal rally in San Diego today. It is suspected that the cops' intention was to incite violence: Eyewitness sources have reported that it was the police who started the violence last week at demonstrations in Sweden and last year in Prague. These witnesses saw the suspected police smash windows and then later associate fraternally with uniformed police. Today's marchers were able to identify the police because of the police’s sloppy tactics and large muscles. After identifying the police, protesters made a sign with the word "COPS" and an arrow pointing to them. The police then left in shame.
Undercover cops often try to infiltrate activist organizations and then try to encourage activists to use molotov cocktails and other forms of violence. These cops are usually identified easily since most activists promote and practice non-violence.

What are the yellow stickers on the "black bloc" cops shirts? Are they from the demonstrations or are they maybe a sign for the other cops.

the stickers on their shirts are the legal support numbers for protestors it basically says: "i maintain my right to remain silent, i want to see a lawyer"
i have heard that someone pictured these guys at the Burger King Animal Rights protested masked up again. Later, they took their masks off and several people photographed them. They stood behind PETA activists posing as protestors luckily they didn't break anything to cause an provocation. I think someone will be posting their pics tomorrow.
expect this more and more, thus peoples AG's need to be tight and the cluster also, i.e. don't invite just any AG (which these cops would be) into your actions.

I hope that "large muscles" will not always be a characteristic that signifies "cop." It wouldn't hurt the direct action community to start hitting the weights, if we are going to realistically and successfully engage in physical confrontation...just a thought...

there was a paranoid guy in a Misfits shirt at the RTS in pittsburgh. he had horrible tattoos of naked women and of harley davidsons. he was a meat head and word has it that he was the "protestor" who threw a chair at the police.
fucking pigs.

it is good to be on the defensive looking out for undercovers... but there should also be trust and communication within the movement. also, advocating violent tactics does not mean cop. there are now, and have been in the past, plenty of genuine folks who for very good reasons advocate taking a more militant stand against the system.
so, keep on your toes, but if paranoia of infiltration splits the movement, even if it just splits apart people who advocate principled nonviolence and people who advocate posing a direct, physical threat to the system... well, that's just what They'd like to do, isn't it?
just to confuse things a bit...

I'm sorry, but not all activists practice nonviolence. In fact, more and more fo them are rejecting the narrow dogmatism that sees nonviolence as the solution to every problem. I'm also a bit upset at the suggestion that the black bloc action in Prague and elsewhere were staged by the cops. We anarchists who do the black bloc do things for very specific reasons. We don't need the police's help, even though we know they try to infiltrate the bloc. Don't devalue the important actions of those who participate in black bloc by insinuating that the cops did these actions.

I definitely agree that there are reasonable arguments to be made for "more militant tactics" (which can of course mean lots of things)---and that we have to be careful not let paranoia start dividind us, and thinking that anyone who disagrees with us must be an agent provacateur. That way is madness. I've never dressed in black bloc, but I have good friends who have (and I'm as sure they're not cops as I am about anyone).
On the other hand, I think the report from Barcelona should make us think. If the cops dressed in black bloc are doing the _same things_ as an actual black bloc, then that would seem to indicate that the black bloc serves the interests of the cops! When the black bloc doens't exist, the cops have to make it up.
Of course, the real black blocs probably aren't doing the exact same things as the cops in drag. It's worth thinking about this further, to ensure that when we use black bloc tactics, we _avoid_ doing things that serve the interests of the cops (unless they're really damn useful things that also serve other interests to such a degree that they're worth it, I suppose), and clarify what these differences are. For ourselves, and for others that would claim _anyone_ doing anything that looks like black bloc must be agent provacateur. Make it clear what the difference is, to avoid that paranoia thing.
But there are some dificult questions, I think. If I see a guy breaking a window at a bank (as some police dressed in black bloc have been reported to do, right?), how do I know if he's a cop or not? Or, if I approve of breaking bank windows, does it even matter? For that matter, if I don't approve of breaking windows, does it even matter? [which is why you see 'non-violent' protestors attacking people in black bloc!]
To make things even more dificult, there's of course really no way to tell if someone is a cop or not (unless you saw them in uniform or whatever), whether they're in black bloc or at an organizing meeting. The response to this should be not the paranoia that is sometimes called "security culture", but figuring out how to act in such a way that it doesn't _matter_ if there's a cop at a meeting, or at a demo, or whatever. (Which often involves keeping your specific plans secret, sure.)

No fucking kidding! would it be so bad if we started being "meatheads"? i think we could probably hold the lines a little longer in the very least. strong arms make bottles break easier when connecting with cops heads!

Hey, I just can tell ya, that in Prague the riots were started by anarchists not by fucking pigs. I can be proud for comrades from many countries which participated in battle. Although some fukin liberals after that says that they were provocatours.
But if there were no violence, there were no questions. Its sad, but we needed it.
And in begining it seems very funy. So much cracked cops :-))) Mistake was made in retreat - No barricades were made.
Cheers

Addressed to only anarchists, and not law abiding protestors:
A WELL-DESERVED BEATING
Many come to Miami on vacation For nothing more than our sunny location But you came to our Magic City to cause unrest, And didn't expect to see so many in armored vests.
You came armed with your marbles and wrist rockets Hoping we'd keep our hands in our pockets. While you carried on, wearing a black hood, Patient and unmoved our troops stood.
So you thought you'd fight, rob, be a vandal Thinking Miami's Finest would cause the scandal. But you crossed some serious legal bounds And then felt the force of our non-lethal rounds.
You must’ve thought you were slick to throw some stones Not thinking with our sticks we’d break your bones Oh how, unfortunately, quick the time passed As we all watched while you got tear-gassed
With paint and violence you did attack, Too bad for you pepper spray was shot back. You tried to start fires, throw smoke bombs, and then run It was quite funny when you got shot with a stun gun
Amusing it was to observe from home While on our city streets you did roam So to conclude, this isn’t just meant to mock, But a reminder to stay off Our Block.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE FUCKEN KIDDING ME! there has to be at least 3000 lbs. of mass right in front of their favorite diner. now i am a pretty muscular person, but not that brawny. cops look very husky cause they workout alot! whenever you spot people like these walk up to them and ask them questions. follow 'em for a bit...see how they react.

I love the tactics the cops use to put an end to flagrant, violent anarchist revolutionaries.
Brings back memories of last year when someone posted that video on IMC, the one with that black bloc radical getting his ass beaten by undercover police! That video brought a smile to my face, I tell ya!!
There's little more satisfying than seeing some black clad smart-assed juvenile delinquint getting a good whomping by the LAPD, and then being cuffed and tossed in the back of a police cruiser.
Little more satisfying that is, except for the incessant whining that is sure to follow the beating by the fifth colum leftists here on IMC, that would have you believe their civil rights are being violated.

If it ever happens that our police forces are overwhelmed by buff liberals (heh) in negative-image kkk garb, all of my non-pussy conservative friends and I will go out with our guns and end this nonsense.
The only entity the indies could intimidate is France.
That probably has something to do with the shit-eating grins on these cops as they drag your limp-wristed hides to jail for violent offenses (assault, battery, vandalism, autolobotomization). Liberal protests are great fun for the cops: easy arrests, you get to smack a liberal pantywaist around, and since liberals don't know how to throw punches or use firearms, the superlative danger to the cop is being driven loco by masses of anti-thought activists chanting their nonsensical mantra.
Maybe one day it will occur to you that the cops stand in the place of individuals so as to defend the lives and property of those individuals. If you Bolsheviks ever manage to overwhelm the cops, you'll learn how foolish it is to continually piss-off a well-armed citizenry and attack their appointed protectors and destroy their property.
Points to Remember 1) If you are the first agressor, you are going to jail and the cop is not in trouble. 2) If you do not cooperate with police instructions that the officer deems necessary to preserve order and safety, you will be guilty of disorderly conduct. 3) You do not have the right to remain silent about your identity once you have been arrested - you must answer the booking questions; failure to self-id is a crime in most states and the cops can use reasonable means to evoke an identification. 4) Being beaten up by a police officer that you have assaulted is not torture - it's a well-deserved ass-whooping and the cop drinks on me afterward.
P.S. - Saddam Hussein told me to express his gratitude for all your help. The Feb SanFran "shoot their officers" protest especially pleased President Hussein.
