On the Monday before the election I told a friend that both sides were preparing legal challenges to the election ("little known fact", I had said, having studied some of the more whacked-out Web sites that RRE readers had pointed me to) and that the whole thing would be hung up for weeks in a messy court fight. I wish I had written that prediction down. So as not to make the same mistake again, I now predict that the whole thing will be pretty much over by Monday evening, at which point we can start with the recriminations.
