1. The LAPPL, the Los Angeles Police Protective League, invested 30 million in police pensions in the Tribune Co., the parent of the Los Angeles Times and many other deforesting warmonger newspapers.

2. In so doing, the LAPPL hoped to control the editorial board and news policy and to remove any reporter who criticized the Los Angeles Police Dept.

3. In investing in Tribue stock, when the company has been involved in bankruptcy and like nearly all newspapers is in a critical condition, the LAPPL endangered the pensions of tens of thousands of police officers.

4. An investment banker named Buetner was made publisher of the LA Times. The Tribune company (named after the Chicago Tribune) is the parent company of the Los Angeles Times. Buetner followed Sam Zell who had acquired the LA Times, Baltimore Sun, Chicago Tribune, Orlando Sentinel, Sun Sentinel, etc. but went bankrupt. Oaktree Capital Management (23% interest),Angelo, Gordon & Co. and JPMorgan Chase ( 9%) own the debt. The Tribune Media Company continues to promote its warmongering and deforesting a

This might not be receiving national attention were it not for the resurrection of a 14 year old jaywalking citation of Ted Rall, LA Times cartoonist, by a policemean, who slapped handcuffs on him and knocked him against a wall. The policeman threw his license on the ground. 14 years later, because perhaps of the LAPPL acquisition of stock, Rall was fired.

The policeman made an audio tape which like many tapes was doctored. 6 minutes were missing. The LAPD gave the doctored tape to pheraps Buetner who sent a rather aggressive reporter to interview Ted Rall.

A Tribune Media subsidiary, Tribune Broadcasting, owns 39 tv stations and manages 3 others, as well as WGN, Chicagoland TV, WGN radio. Tribune Broadcasting is along with Scripps Howard invested in the Food Network. It owns 31% of the Food Network which constantly shills for foods which kill people and animals (animal flesh, fish flesh, eggs, dairy).

The following tv stations are owned by the Tribune
Company. 3 are ABC. 6 are CBS. 2 are NBC. Many more are CW or Fox.
