US Solution to Everything: War

by Stephen Lendman

Make no mistake. Bipartisan lunatics run America. Endless wars rage against invented enemies.

Peace is pure fantasy. It defeats Washington's geopolitical objectives. Obama wants congressional authorization for unconstrained war at his discretion.

John McCain is a notorious hawk. Andy Borowitz satirized him in the New Yorker headlining "McCain Urges Military Strikes Against FIFA."

"(D)ismantle and destroy FIFA once and for all. These are people who only understand one thing: force. We must make FIFA taste the vengeful might and fury of the United States military."

"Obama created FIFA." Put boots on the ground in Zurich to destroy it.

Borowitz mocked McCain and America's rage for war. In multiple global theaters it's real, deadly, and hugely destabilizing beyond areas of combat.

More on this below. In September 2013, Mother Jones mocked McCain. It discussed 14 countries he urged bombing, invading, and/or destabilizing.

They include Afghanistan, Bosnia, China, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, Kosovo, Libya, Mali, Nigeria, North Korea, Russia, Syria and Sudan.

Ahead of GHW Bush's 1991 Iraq war, he said "(i)t is clear to me that if we fail to act there will be inevitably a succession of dictators, of Saddam Husseins, of which around the globe there is an abundance."

He wanted ground war in Kuwait. Ahead of GW Bush's Iraq war, he said "history teaches that hard choices deferred - appeasing Hitler - choosing not to deter Saddam Hussein in 1990, failing to act sooner against Al Qaeda, (eventually) require(s) us to react in freedom's defense."

Against Libya in 2000, he said "I would arm, train, equip, both from without and from within, forces that would eventually overthrow the governments and install free and democratically-elected government."

In 2011, he warned that "the blood of Americans is on Gaddafi's hands." He called for NATO bombing.

Against North Korea he said, "I would arm, train, equip, both from without and from within, forces that would eventually overthrow the government and install free and democratically-elected government."

Against Iran he said, "(i)t's the old Beach Boys song, Bomb Iran? Bomb, bomb, bomb…"

Against Russia he said "(n)ow is the time to fundamentally rethink our relationship with Putin's Russia." He urged a new Cold War - including "another round of NATO expansion" east.

McCain isn't alone. Dozens of other House and Senate members are likeminded luntics - thinking confrontation and belligerence solve all US problems.

On June 4, AP reported the Obama administration is considering "aggressive" action against Russia - "including deploying land-based missiles in Europe (able to) preemptively destroy (its) weapons."

"This 'counterforce' option is among possibilities (being considered) in light of Moscow's military intervention in Ukraine," Crimean reunification, and other actions Washington calls confrontational.

The White House claims Russian Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF - 1987) violations. Moscow categorically denies them.

Pentagon spokesman Lt. Col. Joe Sowers said "(a)ll options under consideration are designed to ensure that Russia gains no significant military advantage from their violation."

At his February Senate confirmation hearing, Defense Secretary Ashton Carter said Washington would respond in kind to Russia's alleged INF violations.

In Stuttgart, Germany, he convened a meeting with about two dozen generals, ambassadors and other officials on countering Russia - aimed at assessing what further political and military steps should be taken.

Pentagon spokesman Brent Colburn said discussion will focus on Russian geopolitical and military polices since late 2013 - specifically with regard to Ukraine and alleged INF violations.

Options considered include anti-missile defenses, preemptive conventional weapons "counterforce" attacks, and "countervailing strike capabilities" involving possible use of nuclear weapons.

Washington is considering possible nuclear war with Russia. It's inventing reasons as justification - from alleged INF violations to nonexistent "aggression" in Ukraine.

Pentagon spokesman Lt. Col. Joe Skewers said "(a)ll options under consideration are designed to ensure that Russia gains no significant military advantage from their (alleged) violation(s)."

Washington's nuclear option risks ending life on earth. It's anti-Russian policy remains unchanged. It's gambling with humanity's survival.

It wants continued conflict in Ukraine. It's goading Moscow to get directly involved. It wants sanctions extended.

On June 4, Sputnik News said the Ukrainian hacktivist group CyberBerkut accessed Ukrainian Major-General Andriy Taran's emails. He heads Kiev's Joint Center for Ceasefire Control and Coordination.

Information gotten proves multiple junta Minsk violations - including not withdrawing heavy weapons from the agreed on contact line and daily attacks on Donbass.

Washington and EU partners knew all along but kept silent. Donbass victims are blamed for Kiev high crimes.

Expect lots more to come. Nazi-infested Right Sector Volunteer Ukrainian Corps commander Andriy Stempitskiy called on his fighters to start full mobilization for war, saying:

"I am addressing the fighters of the Ukrainian Volunteer Corps of the RS (Right Sector). The enemy has renewed activities.

1. Those on vacation or those who went home during the lull on the front must prepare to return to their combat units.

2. The commanders of reserve battalions must restart full-scale mobilization and prepare people to go to their combat units or the Training Center.

3. Those responsible for material support must intensify their work.

4. We will wage war ignoring the truce devotees.

Everything for the war. Everything for the Victory! We will defeat both the external and internal foes! Volunteers are the backbone of the Ukrainian nation. Remember this. Glory to Ukraine!"

Right Sector thugs are capable of anything. They murdered hundreds of Odessans in May 2014.

Other radicalized Ukrainian elements want all-out war. So does Washington. They want Ukraine as a dagger targeting Russia's heartland. Expected protracted conflict risking direct confrontation with Russia.
