Costa Mesa, CA --- On Saturday, August 23, 2014 families will get to experience making changes to create a healthy lifestyle with an opportunity to get to know local practitioners and professionals from all areas of the Health and Wellness community at the OC Market Place. This full day of health education, features the latest medical and dental technology, Life Scan, CPR demonstrations, free health and dental screenings, massages, healthy cooking demonstrations, blood donations, fun prizes, music, games and fitness from 9 am-3:30 pm at the OC Fair and Event Center (88 Fair Drive) in Costa Mesa, presented by Elite Health Dimensions.

One of the event highlights will reveal the breakthrough advancements of dental crowns done in one day from start to finish while you wait. Patterson Dental is bringing their CEREC machine to demonstrate this new technology to eliminate wearing the typical 14-day temporary.

High health risk determination tests are usually very agonizing to wait for. But imagine if you could get free screenings and have the information in the palm of your hand! The globally recognized Pharmanex BioPhotonic Scanner is a device that provides the only method available to painlessly and quickly obtain a living tissue measurement of total body antioxidant status by Nobel Prize winning science Raman Spectroscopy. The palm scanner provides a noninvasive, rapid, accurate, and safe determination of carotenoid levels which in turn can provide diagnostic conditions where carotenoids or other antioxidant compounds may provide diagnostic information. Onsite alkaline palm tests for the public will be available to determine what you alkaline levels are to see if you are at risk for cancer.

Attendees can also find out if they are a high risk for cavities by the pH balance in their mouth from a single swab. Elite Health Dimensions felt it was time for Orange County to become informed with accessible information. “There is no greater service than doing something that can improve the life of another,” states Dawna Lawson, E.H.D., Founder-President of Elite Oral Health Solutions, LLC.

In 2013, according to the California Department of Education Physical Fitness Test, an average of 38.6% of Orange County students in the grades tested had an unhealthy body composition, compared to 43.9% statewide. With immunization rate for Orange County young children falling short and heart disease and diabetes increasing, education is more important than ever. According to the California Health Interview Survey in 2011-12, uninsured residents are considerably less likely to access timely health care or have a usual place to go when they are sick or need health advice. “With our OC Health and Wellness Fair, we’re hoping to change that one event at a time,” states Lawson.

Adding to the fun of the Health and Wellness Fair to promote a healthy lifestyle is Radio Disney’s TRYathalon Road Tour. The TRYathalon encourages kids to TRY new foods, fun moves, and simple ways to be their best through a series of fun challenges.

Lil Chef School is where kids learn the art of cooking. Kids can watch healthy cooking demonstrations at the Health and Wellness Fair where they’ll learn how to make Strawberry and Nectarine Salad with Balsamic-Mint Dressing and Roasted Veggie Lasagna.

Families can participate in a scavenger hunt with Clue Hoo. There is also a drawing every hour for a variety of prizes including a flat screen TV, workout DVDs, therapeutic hula hoop, a Kor Whitening System for a bright smile valued at $1200, and more.

Health Educators from the G.R.E.E.N Foundation, American Cancer Society, Alzheimer’s Association of OC and many others will also be onsite providing information and resources.

The Health and Wellness Fair is included with $2 OC Market Place swap meet admission. Kids 12 and under get in free. For more information call 949-232-2360 or email info@elitehealthdimensions.com ###
