Governor Chris Christie Sacrifices Animals As Well As People
Governor Chris Christie secretly underwent surgery to reduce his weight. And then he vetoed a bill
which would have banned the tiny gestation cages in which pigs are raised. The bill
passed the NJ state Assembly 60 to 5 and in the Senate 29 to 4. Why? He is planning to run
for the presidency and prefers the support of Tyson's, Cargill, Smithfield and other butcher
conglomerates to that of the people of the United States. Martha Stewart is one of many who have criticized his veto. The override of the Christie veto should be easy, since the legislature overwhelmingly passed the gestation crate ban. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/martha-stewart-slams-gov-chris-christie-pig-gestation-crate-veto-article-1.1469929
His predecessor Governor Corzine had a near death experience in a carcrash,
after which Corzine he ended the death penalty in New Jersey for
human beings and for bears. But Christie brought back the barbaric blood sport of bear murder.
The Christie administration has been accused of causing traffic deaths in order to defeat his election opponent. The animal rights movement is gaining more political power. http://www.cnn.com/2014/01/09/us/christie-bridge-scandal-death/ http://www.theadvancegroup.com/our-thoughts/dont-forget-fido-the-increasing-role-of-animal-rights-in-political-campaigns/
"Christie vetoed a bill that would have banned the use of gestation crates on pig farms in New Jersey.
The bill, S. 1921, passed the state Assembly by a vote of 60 to 5 and the state Senate by a vote of 29 to 4 in May, with both Democrats and Republicans supporting the effort to prohibit farmers from using any confinement method that would prevent pigs from turning around or laying down. A poll taken in the state showed that 89 percent of voters were in favor of Christie signing the measure into law [pdf].
