Onyx Friday: a black friday alternative

ONLINE, World Wide (November 23, 2012) - On November 23, 2012 an online event unparalleled with any other is going to take place on the largest social media network, Facebook. Siren Song Productions proudly presents the first ever “Onyx Friday: a black friday alternative”. Onyx Friday is an alternative to shopping with big box stores on Black Friday; instead it offers the opportunity to purchase from artisans located all over the world. With over 30 artists participating in the one-day only sale, this event is sure to be epic! Artists will offer their wares for a great discount on Friday, the 23rd from 8am to 11pm (PST) to Onyx Friday shoppers. This event will be held entirely online and anyone in the world can participate and shop.

Onyx Friday is an unprecedented event. With over 10,000 invites and hundreds of confirmed attendees, the sale has taken off like a storm. In just one and half short weeks, the artists involved in Onyx Friday along with Siren Song Productions have pulled together an incredible line up of items including, hand made glassware, custom clothing, hand crocheted items, handcrafted art work, hennaed products, jewelry, self-produced DVDs, and so much more. All items are hand made, hand crafted, and fine art items.

Unlike Cyber Monday, Onyx Friday gives shoppers the chance to join in on all of the excitement on Black Friday while getting the convenience of shopping from the comfort of their own home. Typically, the Monday after Thanksgiving is a “return to work” day, leaving people drained and tired. Why should shoppers looking for a discount have to wait until Monday to shop online? Shopping on Friday gives people the opportunity to have all of their shopping done for the holidays before they even return to work. Have the packages delivered to their doorstep (no parking, waiting in lines, or freezing weather to contend with). Wrap the gifts when they arrive, and deliver under the tree at home or to their families during holiday get-togethers.

Onyx Friday artists have agreed to have their items on sale for one day only, Friday, November 23rd, the day commonly referred to as “Black Friday” or the day after Thanksgiving. In an effort to provide unique gifts to shoppers, the artists have put together some of their finest products for the sale. Siren Song Productions supports artists of all types and hopes to give back to the art community via promoting their online shops. Shoppers wanting to participate in Onyx Friday can go online to Facebook and “join” the event (link: www.facebook.com/events/445389568832075). Once the shoppers have joined, all they have to do is log in online on Friday, head over to the event page, and watch, as the items are posted live on the page. When the shopper spots an item that they just have to have, they click the link provided and they are ready to purchase. It’s that simple!

An entire list of artists can be viewed on the Facebook Event Page for Onyx Friday at: www.facebook.com/events/445389568832075.
