Aiding Women Victims of War is Essential for Stabilizing Societies Torn by Civil Strife
Interview with Zainab Salbi, co-founder and president of Women for Women International, conducted by Melinda Tuhus
Zainab Salbi grew up in Iraq and knows the effects of war first-hand. At the age of 23, she co-founded Women for Women International in 1993 to provide training for women living in conflict and post-conflict areas. The group offers women survivors of war, civil strife and other conflicts the tools and resources to move from crisis and poverty to stability and self-sufficiency, thereby promoting viable civil societies.
