WHAT IS PROPOSITION 15?

Prop 15 will provide public financing for candidates running for the office of Secretary of State - the office responsible for supervising elections.

Good government groups like CALIFORNIA COMMON CAUSE have worked for decades to change the way California runs elections by creating a public funding program for candidates running for office.

On June 8, and with your help, California will pass this historic legislation.

Why is public financing for elections important? Simple. So our politicians stop fundraising and start doing the work we sent them to do!

Without campaign finance reform, until we end the stranglehold that big corporations and lobbyists have on our democracy, change is impossible.
