Protests against passage of Proposition 8 - the proposition that took marriage rights away from gays and lesbians in California - are growing. On November 8 I joined the enormous crowd in Silver Lake for a marriage rights rally that wound through the neighborhood. Over the weekend, other protests and rallies were held in Long Beach, La Jolla, Oakland, San Francisco, San Diego, Modesto, Turlock, Visalia, and many other cities and communities.
On Saturday I talked to people gay, straight, black, white, Latino and Asian, all of whom gave up their Saturday night to fight for the equal rights of all. Here's a five minute audio montage from the event.
More rallies and protests are taking place across the state today, later this week, and onward.
