SAVE WALL ST WITH LASCAR EV

Dr. Michio Kaku and Stephen Hawking worry about the darnedest things that tend to scare tards yet scheming springs eternal and Silicon never rusts. The Dr. confused miniaturization for advancement when he speculated that "quantum electronics" might spell an end to the usefulness, tool set, and skills in Silicon Valley. The technology considered here could also save WALL STREET, the valley and the human race.

CHAPTER ONE: WHAT IS A LASCAR?

I call this preliminary design a LASCAR LASCR EV. The acronyms stand for light activated silicon controlled rectifier electric vehicle and LASCAR just rhymes with NASCAR.

The LASCAR is at first intended to be a kevlar belt driven EV or assist drive that uses a belt to assist another drive train in a vehicle.

Larger LASCAR type vehicles could be used as trucks, vans, yachts, pickups, freight haulers, marine vehicles and construction equipment.

The LASCAR also intends to compete with TUNNEL DIODE OSCILLATOR driven EVs discussed later.

CHAPTER TWO: HELP WALL STREET HELP YOU

Common shares of Applied Materials look like a bargain and especially now that they are gaining experience and tools in the Photovoltaic market.

Photovoltaic cell materials development also represents experience and possibly surplus tools that can be used to manufacture the silicon crystals that you need for very large semiconductor devices that could be very useful in the future. see NOTEFOOT ONE and TWO:

General Electric and General Motors are also in a good position to quickly retool for this type of EV as well as Harley Davidson Motorcycles, Kawasaki, and CITIGROUP. My shorts are beige with brown spots.

CHAPTER THREE: HOW IT WORKS AND STUFF

PART ONE: WHY YOU NEED A LASCR MOTOR DRIVE

DC motors have lots of problems like brushes that wear out. They need high voltages to get lots of horsepower. And the electro-magnetic concept of amp turns per square inch equaling the strength of the fields and therefore strength of the motor per pound, seems to equate to the reality that the induction motor will always be superior.

Another problem is preventing overspeed. An open circuit in a DC motor with field coils and a wound rotor could cause overspeed, a critical safety concern in an electric vehicle.

In order to take advantage of the most reliable, commonly available, electric motors, the AC induction motor, the electric vehicle power plant must produce AC current for a rotating magnetic field, or a rotating magnetic field from a DC power plant. (batteries) The LASCR MOTOR DRIVE accomplishes this.

Larger AC induction motors are typically 3 phase motors which are not subject to overheating because of low voltages like the induction motors you will find in your household appliances. Too many extension chords will cause some electric motors to overheat. Therefore we should consider a 3 phase LASCR MOTOR DRIVE.

PART TWO: THE LASCAR THROTTLE

In the drivers seat, the LASCAR driver on a public street would turn on the master switch first and observe the instrumentation.

For a smooth start the throttle can be lever adjusted from off to the minimum settings between 0 and 50 to 60 hertz typically. For a flat ground start from a dead stop, the driver can use a selector switch to select DELTA, WYE, OR AUTO start. (LOW, DRIVE, and AUTOMATIC respectively.)

Pushing the throttle pedal would apply electricity to the motor and the car would begin to move. Pushing the peddle (master control) or lever (slave control and cruise control) would enable a triggering signal and send a speed signal to be used by the motor drive.

In a drag race, the driver would select WYE, apply minimum throttle, then jam the peddle on green. Heating the tires would be unnecessary if feedback were used to prevent non-traction. (Reverse anti-lock brake technology.) Expanding the circumference of the tires at the starting line, an advantage in drag racing, could be achieved with lighter tires.

My wye start delta run motor can safely run about 30 seconds WYE connected. Way more time than you need to win a drag race.

PART THREE: WHAT A LASCR DOES

A LASCR is a device which turns a high current switch on and off like an SCR. (silicon controlled rectifier) SCRs tend to be made in large sizes compared to most semiconductors and are typically used to convert AC current to DC current for very powerful motors.

Other common uses for SCRs are "crowbars". Computer geeks should be familiar with "crowbars" used to prevent damage to short circuited DC power supplies and battery chargers.

The devices can also be used to convert DC to AC.

The LASCR uses light rather than an electric control signal to turn an SCR on and off.

Another type of SCR is a TRIAC which is like a dual SCR, or in this case, a three phase DC to AC converter. The same concepts can be used to create a LATRIAC, (light activated TRIAC) thus simplifying our design greatly by needing only 3 LATRIACs as opposed to 6 LASCRs.

The LATRIACs or LASCRs give us our handy dandy 3 phase AC current needed to create a rotating magnetic field in our motor which, without being physically connected to the rotor field windings, induce current in the rotor which chases the rotating magnetic field in the stator coils which need to be securely connected to a lightweight and sturdy frame, ideally a high density military electronic connector grade plastic. My motor has an aluminum frame which was probably a bad idea but I intend to rubber mount the brittle cast aluminum.

The devices also enable us to speed up the rotating field faster than the rated rpms of these motor types. (typically 1750 to 3600 rpms or higher) Virtually no top end speed until something breaks, or you run out of battery power. WARNING: electric motors that overspeed tend to fly apart which could causing serious injury and damage.

PART FOUR: THE MOTOR DRIVE

The motor drive would be powered by three battery banks that deliver DC power to 6 LASCRs or 3 LATRIACS that produce almost square wave, three phase, AC precisely 120 degrees apart, (critical for the proposed motor type) to energize the motor.

Rounding the square wave off a little bit should not be a major problem, the triggering signal can be used to do this when needed. I doubt if the square wave is going to cause vibration the way conventional VFDs (variable frequency drives) and other power converters do because of spikes and deviation from precise 120 degree phase differential.

As a default, the triggering signal and AC frequency would match the motor ratings, typically 50 to 60 cycles per second, which leaves plenty of time left over to modify the waveform with the LASCRs speed signal.

Once the motor is turning the default 50 or 60 hertz trigger signal can be controlled by an axillary pulley connected to the motor itself which turns a belt that turns an optical window wheel.

The optical window wheel and pulley system is designed to hold the speed signal at the selected rated frequency as long as the motor keeps spinning. This can be achieved by the number of holes (windows) and the pulley sizes.

The window wheel shades or blocks sets of infrared LEDs that shine at the input lenses of the LATRIACs or LASCRs. These LEDs can precisely control the timing, waveform, and polarity of the DC input current from the 3 battery banks.

Controlling the polarity converts the current from DC to AC. Controlling the waveform assures the quality of the AC to prevent vibration, overheating and cuts costs in motor design. Controlling the timing assures precise 120 degree phase differential which also prevents motor overheating and other problems including performance.

Overspeed is then achieved by advancing the timing of the window wheel with a perdido hub gear. This causes the motor to spin faster, which causes the window wheel to turn faster, which causes the rotating magnetic field to spin faster, and continues to accelerate until the window wheel is no longer being advanced, and or the brakes are applied. OVERDRIVE MODE.

To improve all that caveman electronic technology you could use a small computer to fire optocouplers connected to less expensive TRIACS or LATRIACS to accomplish all the same things better.

More developed production cars already have these capabilities.

PART FIVE: THE DRIVE TRAIN

For smaller high efficiency all electric street vehicles I have to reccomend belt drives without a clutch.

For hybrids I think a clutch will be essential. A belt drive train between the electric motor and the main drive train is reccommended for the highest efficiency.

Induction motors spin freely and can actually generate current down a hill or when the other power plant is running that can be tapped for battery charging. This concept can be used in a hybrid for highly efficient engine braking because when the electric load is connected to the free spinning induction motor it will become harder to turn.

Other types of engine braking waste energy. This engine braking concept transforms the energy into electric power, collectable hydrogen, heat or whatever else the vehicle might need.

On a long downhill grade, fuel is saved by idling the internal combustion power plant, slowing the vehicle with the electric motor, while generating electric power all the way down the mountain pass.

Some off the shelf drive trains could include a Harley Davidson stock drive train with or without a primary, or a Kawasaki belt drive train with or without a clutch.

For larger vehicles you would want transaxles, chain drives, tank track gear box drives, giant belt drives, multispeed diesel truck trannys and other cool stuff.

Rather than use a transmission, a freight hauler could use multiple induction motors or different sizes as different gears. All of the motors can use the same power plant and motor drive.

CHAPTER FOUR: TUNNEL DIODE DRIVES

A tunnel diode oscillator used as a motor drive represents a competitive design that could weigh in lighter than the previously described LATRIAC MOTOR DRIVE.

Combining the concepts into one drive might be even better.

The device would be simple to make in large sizes by companies like Applied Materials.

A tunnel diode oscillator consists of a battery, a tunnel diode, a coil, and a capacitor. The circuit creates high quality sine wave AC power from a battery.

A tunnel diode is like a diode that got exposed to too much dope. Applied materials might actually have some factory reject crystals that got doped to much.

Doping the crystal is the process of intentionally adding an impurity to a manufactured crystal to give it certain properties, like polarity or opto-electronic properties. For example the material used to dope the two crystals in an LED determine it's color.

The output of a small tunnel diode oscillator can drive the input of separate DC amplifiers to create a wonderful 3 phase motor drive.

CHAPTER FIVE: BUY IN OR JUMP IN

CHAPTER SIX: KAKU THE QUACKO ON SILICON OXIDE

SiO2, Silicon dioxide, quartz, one of the most abundant materials in the earth's crust, is about the closest thing I know of to silicon rust. According to Michio Kaku, quantum computers, rather than electronic computers, represent an advancement in computer science so profound that it threatens to turn "silicon valley into a rust belt".

Only dishonest scientists will tell you that thoughtless miniaturization of electronics will always represent an advancement and an energy savings. WRONG. I always knew that was wrong and now the business and technical numbers clearly show that I was correct again.

Interconnectivity would create less need to replace hard to recycle miniature electronics rather than modular, general purpose devices that are useful for many years and naturally interface with newer "technology".

The consumer needs make no sacrifice in quality, performance, usefulness, nor timely trendiness when using devices modular rather than miniature even when dealing with the infamous wireless gadget.

What could save the world from Global Warming, a GIANT METEOR or a BLACK HOLE is of course giant crystals.

For example, giant photovoltaic cells were previously considered impractical and unnecessary yet scary documentaries may change all that. The power output of a photovoltaic cell depends on how large it is, the larger the better. Various limitations would be reached trying to achieve giant PV cell construction and what I need Stephen Hawking for is to speculate on how large a cell I could construct.

Besides that, I don't think Oxygen is cabable of bonding with Silicon one atom at a time. Silicon oxide would be SiO1 and would probably be an ion that stabs other oppositely charged particles. Don't breath it. It would probably be similar to pink corning fiberglass, rock wool, asbestos, or sandy ozone.

CHAPTER SEVEN: SUMMARY

No matter how you look at it the development of these ideas represent very good use of our electronic industrial complex as well as drastically driving up production at Applied Materials of a type that won't slow them down much.

For the investors, the results will be very predictable and cyclical, (growth stocks) and the companies can be inspired toward honesty by diversifying the investments using a strategy of sharing the production among several interested parties ranging from Applied Materials to Honda to US Motors, to General Electric and even GM.

Great advertising opportunities spring from racing, consumer product sponsors, good green public relations, and pollution reduction.

This new business by itself could turn investors bullish about the domestic economy one quarter from now. Success of the sector would improve the Gross Domestic Product which was just diluted by 64 billion shares.

The rest of the global community needs America to remain solvent in the near future. The LASCAR could be the car that saved America and won the war.
