Brad Will, New york Documentary Filmaker and Indymedia Reporter Assasinated by Pro-Government Gunshot in Oaxaca

The APPO Installs 1,000 Barricades in Broad Daylight; PRI Militants and Police Respond with 21 Armed Attacks.

OAXACA CITY: In the face of a renewed civil strike established in this capital city yesterday [Friday, October 27, 2006] by the popular Assembly of the Peoples of Oxaca (APPO), groups of gunmen linded to three minicipal mayors from the Institional Revolutionary Party (PRI) lauched a "cleansing" ot the barricades and building occupations that opponents of the PRI Governor Ulises Ruiz Ortiz have been maintaining for months.

The result: three people killed, eleven wounded, two disappeared, one detained by the Mininsterial Police and hundreds of shell casings left scattered along the streets as a testimony to the 21 shootouts that occured yesterday [Friday, October 27, 2006] in the city. This capital city has already been under siege for 154 days, but since 6:00 yesterday morning the city was now truly besieged, just as the APPO leadership collective has warned would happen as part of their attempts to win the ouster of the PRI governor.

Join the people of Oaxaca to demand:

STOP THE KILLINGS AND REPRESSION AGAINST TEACHERS AND THE PEOPLE OF OAXACA!!

Is It Safe To Visit Oaxaca?

by Kurt Brown--Saint Ram Bone Saturday, Dec. 02, 2006 at 4:58 PM
USA, A nightmare state under the regime

The USA government was taken away from the American people completely. We once had partial control. Now we have none and the USA is not safe. Is Mexico safe to visit?

I am thinking of going to Oaxaca for the Winter, but I need to know if Oaxaca is safe?
