Hello, we are Virna Molina and Ernesto Ardito, filmmakers from Argentina.

At the beginning of 2004 we started our documentary project “Heart of Factory”.

The film looks at the life of a group of workers, men and women, inhabitants of the Argentinean Patagonia. These workers start a fight to stop the deaths and accidents that happen in the factory where they work. They live complex and dangerous conflicts and they are taking more and more commitment, something many of them had never imagined could happen.

These strong episodes are affecting their perception of the reality, of the world. No one now can see himself or herself like the human he or she used to be. Something broke, something has changed and can not return to the original place. In a poor country looted by its own governments and businessmen, the workers of Zanon Ceramic take the factory in their own hands when the owner closes it. They start to produce ceramics again, but without bosses. This is a permanent challenge where every day they have to fight against a political and economic system that tries to boycott them. Their biggest obstacle though does not come from the outside. It is about their own fears inculcated by this society. Although many of them do not know it, if they win the battle in their consciences they will open the door to build a completely different world.

During the research and filming, we were living and sleeping by 3 months inside the factory. The camera work carries us throughout the interior of a factory operating without bosses: from workers' daily routine, we come to understand how they organise the production and the political resistance.

The situations among characters have an enormous dramatic intensity and they explore deeply the universe of human relationships. We are very happy with the results of the filming. Now is remaining the post-producction of the film.

At the present, we have completed the research and the filming, but the post-production of the film still remains to be done.

Until now, we were supporting the film with our personal resources. But these have run out at the end of the shooting.

We are now developing a campaign to gather the money needed to finish the film. We propose you the payment in advance of a "Heart of Factory" DVD, which will be delivered to you when the movie will be released.

Like a way to be grateful with people who help us, this "Heart of Factory" DVD edition will be unique, because of the extra material included. The estimated date of the premiere is November 2006.

We also call for donations, sponsors and commercial distributors who are interested in the film.

We have all the information about “Heart of Factory” movie, the details of the campaign, a photo gallery and a 10 minutes trailer at www.filmraymundo.com.ar/default.htm

Our previous film was “Raymundo” about the life and work of Raymundo Gleyzer, argentinean revolutionary filmmaker that was kidnapped and murdered by the military dictatorship in 1976. This film obtained 16 international awards and was selected in 55 international film festivals all over the world.
