The Union workers of SEIU Local 1877 are on strike against defense contractors; Raytheon, Boeing, Northrop-Grumman. At issue are; extremely low pay and poor working conditions. In addition workers currently receive no healthcare benefits.

Today a march and rally was held. Workers marched to Raytheon’s offices in El Segundo. Picket lines are up and are planned to stay up until the strike is settled.

Peace and social justice activists are welcome to join in support of the workers. This strike should be of particular interest to anti-war activists given the war profiteering that these corporations are currently indulged in.

This Friday, July 8th at 10:30 AM there is a rally in support of the workers at same address. Also, massive picket lines are held every day at 4:30 PM at Imperial Highway & Hughes Way in El Segundo at the entrance to Raytheon.
