Hundreds of the nurses, teachers, students and firefighters
will gather outside Gov.'s fundraiser at Century Plaza Hotel to protest Governor Schwarzenegger's cash-register politics
WHEN: 5 pm, Wednesday, March 16th
WHERE: Westin Century Plaza Hotel
2025 Avenue of the Stars
between Olympic Blvd. and Santa Monica Blvd.
WHAT: Beginning at 5:00, Governor Schwarzenegger will hold an ,200 per plate fundraiser inside the hotel.
WHO: Hundreds of the nurses, teachers, students and
firefighters will protest the governor who has has mislabeled them a 'special interests' as an excuse to repeal patient safety rules, cut education budgets, increase tuition fees, and give billions of dollars in pension funds over to Wall Street financers.
WHY: As a candidate, Schwarzenegger told voters: ''I will go to Sacramento and I will clean house. I don't have to take money from anybody. I have plenty of money;'' and, ''Any of those kinds of real big, powerful special interests, if you take money from them, you owe them something.''
Since he announced his candidacy, Schwarzenegger has raised million from big industry that's about ,000 each day twice as much as Governor Gray Davis, who he replaced for being a cash register politician.
FTCR has launched an Internet petition campaign: ''Governor, Please Stop the Fundraising,'' in response to Schwarzenegger's recent remarks stating that the public does not care that he has broken campaign promises to clean-up
politics as usual. The online petition is available at
