Saturday, April 3, 2004

5 p.m. to midnight

The Miracle Mile Players maintain their presence in supporting arts and community through the TarFest Benefit & Art Show on Saturday, April 3 from 5 p.m. to midnight. The proceeds benefit TarFest, the annual Festival of Film, Music and Art held each October on the Miracle Mile. This first of five benefits leading up to TarFest in October will be at the Miracle Mile Art Salon, 5828 Wilshire Boulevard. The night will feature new paintings from three of L.A.’s hottest artists, Steven Janssen, Ardeshir Tabrizi and Andrey Yevdoshchenko. Constant Flux (Run Recordings, Fluxgruv) with visual artist Yo Suzuki (Cleopatra/Hypnotic Recordings, Lovemushroom), DJ Marc Antonio and Beat Symposium will provide live audio and visual stimulai. The reception for the art show is free from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A donation is suggested after 8 pm benefiting TarFest 2004, October 21-24.

Concurrently, The Craft and Folk Art Museum, 5824 Wilshire Boulevard will be open free to the public from 5 p.m to 8 p.m. with two exhibits: Artists Advertising Themselves: Hand Painted Signs From Ghana and Productos Latinos, Signs Of OurTimes: Sign Painters Of Los Angeles.

Also, DoubleVision Galley, 5820 Wilshire, will present a solo exhibition of new paintings from New York-based artist Carl Nicholas Titolo, with a reception for the artist from 5 p.m. to 9 pm.
