Discover Africa will play host to African civic leaders and businessmen and women

LA. CA.- A little known African NGO will launch its 4th annual training symposium in celebration of Black History. Discover Africa will play host to African civic leaders and businessmen and women with Discover Africa, Know the World a four day training symposium in Los Angeles June 15th to 19th, 2004. The event will converge in Los Angeles for a historical and ground setting occasion made up of international dignitaries and civic leaders, including CNN Reporter, Yvonne Asante of Ghana stationed in London, Moise Rippon, International Concert Promoter and well known Choreographer and teacher of Paris, France, Richard Dimosi, CEO of Vanza Television Production Company in Paris, France, Captain Cherif Asane Diack, of the Senegalese Army, and Samuel Boison & Misornu Dzobo, Freelance Journalists for Ghana TV to name a few.

The event is the brainchild of Discover Africa, Founder and President Nii Narh Noye and Vice President Roxann Latimer. Mr. Noye of Ghana West Africa has lived in the US for over 12 years and was educated at USC speaks and teaches French and Spanish, began Discover Africa in 1986 in Ghana. “We have offices or representatives in several countries, Ghana, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Togo, France, London, all over the world and in many states of America. This symposium is being done in collaboration with Nation 2 Nation, a United Nations NetAid partner organization. We will be discussing business opportunities in Africa and welcome all that wish to attend.”
Roxann Latimer, Founder and President of Nation 2 Nation, became VP with Discover Africa this year. A native of California and a retired social worker in Los Angeles for over twenty years, Roxann is excited about the collaboration between their two organizations. “For the past few years we’ve donated medical supplies and equipment to clinics in West Africa and set up Committees in several countries. Working together as a team has enabled us to provide a continuum of care beyond our own independent measures. This training will provide our members and anyone who wishes to become a member with the tools to carry out the mission of our organizations.”
Those missions include combating, poverty, AIDS and other diseases and providing educational materials and equipment as well as Relief goods in several West African countries.

The symposium is free and open to the public. For further information please contact Discover Africa at www.2discoverafrica.org or call 323-756-4945, or e-mail them at discoverafrica@lycos.com.
