Urge workers to demand the Democratic presidential candidates give substantial support to the supermarket strike; expose their false, pro-worker masks
The California Democratic primary is March 2. The Democratic candidates will be there claiming to support the working people at large. Put them on the spot! Urge the striking supermarket workers to go to cmapign rallies and meetings and put forward the demand that the candidates who promise to support the working people should put their money where their mouth is -- they should give substantial support to the supermarket strike. By this I mean not only public statements but presence on picket lines or at rallies. The claim of the Democrats to support the workers is bullshit (not that the Republicans are friends of the working class). The Dems should be put on the spot, their pro-labor masks ripped away, shown to be false friends. This will hasten the day when the working class has a movement of its own, independent of the two capitalist political parties. Such a movement is the only way out of the present misery for the working class.
