us to be educated and keep the fight strong! You never know when law
enforcement might think you could provide them with information, so you MUST
MUST MUST attend this workshop.
Whether you work aboveground or underground, if you are a part of the animal
rights movement than you MUST attend this workshop.
On Friday, October 3, 2003, the Los Angeles home of animal rights activists
John and Amy Feldmann was raided by over 30 law enforcement officers. The
search lasted 3 hours, during which John and Amy were separated and
interrogated.
John and Amy were informed that their house was raided NOT because there was
evidence that they participated in the ALF action early that morning at the
home of Jerry Greenwalt (the General Manager for the LA Department of Animal
Services) but rather because THEY WERE SEEN PASSING OUT LEAFLETS AT A LEGAL DEMONSTRATION.
This event is just another reminder that it does not matter if you
participate in legal or illegal activities. If you are a compassionate
person who advocates animal rights, than you could find yourself the target
of a government devoted to harassing animal rights activists in futile
attempts to intimidate and silence us.
Even if you have not committed any illegal act, TALKING TO LAW ENFORCEMENT
PUTS YOU AND OTHER ACTIVISTS IN DANGER. Even if you know you have nothing to hide, blabbing helps law enforcement gain information about you, your
network, and other activists. Though you may not realize it, any information
you supply could provide leads to nailing activists who are risking their
freedom to help the animals.
IT IS ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL THAT ALL ANIMAL RIGHTS ACTIVISTS IN THE LOS ANGELES AREA HAVE AN EMERGENCY MEETING TO DISCUSS INTERROGATIONS. It can be a frightening experience to come home to officers who have a warrant to raid your house, so arm yourself with knowledge about your rights and what to do. If John and Amy – aboveground activists who have never been arrested or broken the law – can be targeted, you could be next.
Don’t be caught off guard. Be smart. Be prepared.
COME TO THIS IMPORTANT, FREE WORKSHOP TO PROTECT YOURSELF AND YOUR MOVEMENT.
For Total Animal Liberation!
