Bob Kearney on the Patriot Acts, Privacy Rights, and the Rights of Gays. LINK- http://www.radio4all.net/proginfo.php?id=7488 On July 25th, Bob Kearney, Associate Director of the Northern California American Civil Liberties Union, spoke to the first meeting of the Mendocino County ACLU chapter. Bob was introduced by William J Ray. Bob worked for 10 years in the Washington DC ACLU office, and offered many insights into the Capitol Hill perspective of the Patriot Acts. He pointed out the importance of small groups of citizens calling on their federal and state legislators to take a stand against the Unconstitutional and totalitarian bills such as the Patriot Acts. He also described the diminishing privacy rights in the wake of 9/11, giving examples that our legislators should be up in arms about. Bob described the surprising vote on Sodomy laws given by the Supreme Court, and an optimistic future for domestic partnerships and the rights of the gay population in general.
