CFL ACTION ALERT: HP PLANS DIGITAL INK PLANT ON LAND CONFISCATED FROM PALESTINIAN VILLAGE

A recent report from Reuters (http://biz.yahoo.com/rc/030115/tech_israel_hp_1.html) indicates that US computer giant Hewlett Packard Co. plans to establish a digital ink factory on land Israel confiscated from the Palestinian village of Iraq al Manshiya. If HP goes through with their plans they will be an American company who is actively participating in the violation of international law by being complicit in the Israeli terror which drove the Palestinians off of their land in 1948.

TALKING POINTS

*Tell your Representative that you expect them to do their job by monitoring which US companies are violating international law and that you expect your Representatives to meet with Hewlett Packard executives immediately. Stress the fact that HP's proposed site is located on land Israel confiscated from the Palestinian village of Iraq Al-Manshiya.

*Israel forced out the original inhabitants of Iraq Al-Manshiya and the nearby village of Al-Faluja after the 1948 war ended contrary to international law and an armistice agreement sponsored by the UN and which Israel signed.

*Hewlett Packard should not allow Israel to have economic benefits from the illegal dispossession of Palestinians. Israel is denying Palestinian refugees their right of return to their lands and homes which it is still occupying despite over 60 UN Resolutions demanding that they end their illegal occupation. The Palestinian right of return is in UN resolutions, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and International Law.

*Given Israel's apartheid policies, continuing abuses of fundamental human rights, and violations of International Law, Hewlett Packard should divest from Israel forthwith.
