In preparation for the World Bank/IMF and Anti-War Demonstrations in D.C. and globally, the Westminster Action Network is hosting training workshops on political, social and cultural activism. Topics include lobbying, non-violent resistance, affinity groups, anti-globalization, green living, preserving biodiversity, and legal training.

Your Help is Needed!

In preparation for the April 20, 2002 World Bank, International Monetary Fund and Anti-War Demonstrations centering in Washington, D.C., the Westminster Action Network and other local organizers are planning the

2002 Wasatch Activist Convergence and Training (WACT 2002)

Westminster College (1700 South 1200 East)

April 12th, 13th, and 14th

in Salt Lake City, Utah

With your help, training workshops will include topics of political, social and cultural activism ranging from lobbying locally, nationally and globally, to non-violent resistance, solidarity and legal training in mass gathering settings. Other workshops will emphasize topics such as alternatives to corporate globalization, independent media and green living, to the preservation of biodiversity through gardening in the modern world.

If you or your organization are interested in planning the event, or if you are interested in conducting workshops, lectures, trainings, tabling, etc. surrounding the themes mentioned above, please sign up to the www.wact2002@yahoogroups.com e-discussion list and introduce yourself. Housing is available with some meals from Food Not Bombs. Because the event is just thirty days away, time is of the essence to involve yourself! If you are unable to help plan or participate, please consider at least spreading the word of this event through your channels of communication. Remember, these events cannot succeed without unified collaboration!
