Guerilla Public Service"
An artist disguised as a state employee takes the direct approach to correcting guide signs of the California freeway system. Manufacturing and installing a duplicate route shield of “Interstate 5” and “North” to aid motorists on the 110 Pasadena freeway, in downtown Los Angeles, to indicate an exit two miles ahead. These signs were placed on the overhead structure August 5, 2001 without the knowledge of the city, state or federal government and at the time of this release, November 7, 2001, they are still in place. This is a auto documentation of functional, conceptual, public and performance art, taken to the realm of civic duty.
