COMMUNITY FORUM ON THE WAR SATURDAY

LOS ANGELES FORUM ON THE WAR features Michael Parenti, Erwin Chemerinsky, Ann Fagan Ginger, Sonali Kolhatkar and many others. As protesters gather for the New York & Brazil meetings, here in Los Angeles panels will analyze the current economic and military crises being faced here at home and around the world.

An extraordinary series of panel presentations---by lecturers, authors and movement activists--will be the focus Saturday at an all-day Forum at Fairfax High School from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The event is A COMMUNITY FORUM ON THE WAR ON TERRORISM, The Hidden Agenda, The Real Causes, The Underreported Consequences.

Among the presenters are Michael Parenti, Ann Fagan Ginger, Erwin Chemerinsky, Rev. James Lawson, Sonali Kolhatkar and several others.

Fairfax High School is at 7850 Melrose Avenue at Fairfax. The program, which begins at 10:00 a.m., will be in the school auditorium. Registration is at 9:30 am.

The Teach-In will put the current war crisis in historical context and also deal with the attack on civil liberties and immigrants, the threat to the progressive domestic agenda and the issue of Palestine and Israel, posing the question, "Is Peace Possible."

The Palestine-Israel panel will feature Yossi Khen and Mahmoud Ibrahim.

Other presenters include Danielle Babineau, Margaret Prescod and Preston Wood.

The event is sponsored by the COALITION FOR WORLD PEACE and entrance prices are , with a charge of for limited income and students and no one will be turned away, according to a Coalition spokesperson.
