Protesters set NGOs offices ablaze

MARDAN: Angry mob comprising the workers and students of

different religious political parties on Monday set ablaze number of

NGOs offices, vehicles and a house in different localities of tehsil

Takhtbhai while two unidentified persons were injured by police firing

besides looting valuables of an NGO office in same area.

In Mardan city police resorted lati charge and fired tear gas on student

protestors at different places, in which seven students injured.

Students burnt tyres by blocking Mardan Swabi Road.

Many students of Islami Jamiat Tulaba were arrested and shifted to unknown

places.

Protestors pelted stones on police which resulted injury of a SHO.

The Ulema of Mosques called the people on loudspeakers of Mosques in

villages and streets in Takhtbhai tehsil, after morning prayers, to come out

from houses to protest against attacks on Afghanistan.

Large number of JUI workers, religious students of Madrasas, college and

school came out from houses early morning.

The protestors attacked on sugar cane cooperative society in Takhtbhai and

set ablaze to ash.

The residents of village Ganjai (Takhtbhai) torched to fire the house of

chairman women and children Ms Zakia Rehman.

The house was completely ashed.

However, Ms Zakia Rehman succeeded to rescue her very difficulty similarly,

two branch offices of Alfalah NGO located at Nahar Par and Nasir Kalay were

also ablaze by another group of angry mob.

The office of NGO community centre owned by a councilor Munir at village

Mazdoor Abad and another office of an NGO at Nawa Kali were torched

ablaze.

Three vehicles owned by Din Muhammad Patwari and two jeeps of Jehanzaib

Salik parked in Salik welfare trust were also ablaze.

Meanwhile, a big procession under edges of JUI was also taken out from

Khwaja Gunj Bazar.

The procession after marching through various bazar-chanting slogans against

President Bush and General Pervaz Musharraf turned into big public meeting

at kuchery chock.

The speakers including Mualana Shuja ul Mulm, Hamiz Akhtar Ali and Mulana

Qaisaruddin came very hard against America and General Pervaz Musharraf.

They said that Jehad against America and non-Muslims had been begun.

They were ready to sacrifice their lives in way of Islam, JUI leaders vowed.

They asked the people to inlist their names for Jehad with their respective

Ulemas of mosques.

They, warned district administration of Mardan not to block their ways other

wise they would launch movement against administration.
