PUSTULES ON PLANET EARTH

by Internetish Human ;-) Thursday, Oct. 04, 2001 at 1:06 PM

Maybe social problems are not important enough to our politicians. Maybe it's better to choose the expensive way...(!?)

PUSTULES ON PLANET EARTH:

I go to the doctor because hundreds of dozens of little pustules are coming up my whole body. I tell him “Doctor, I think I’m ill” And the doctor looks at me in a conspicuous way, and he asks me to please take off my shirt. He takes his measurement technical instruments and he asks me to “say aaaah...!” or to cough, or to breathe deeply... At last he says: “you have an infection of the skin” (but he says the word in Latin) so I get frozen of terror. I hear that primitive feeling of fear deep inside of me.

The doctor says: “Well, we’ll have to treat each pustule at one time, clean it up and be very vigilant for if any other spot appears on your skin”. And you would think “this is gonna take a looooong time, yesss’r!” And you would probably be right. And you would think “this is gonna be veeery expensive!” and you would probably be right too! Maybe the doctor could have started by asking me if I had any kind of allergy or something. I mean, he could have tried to find out the origin of the problem, looking at the spots as if they were the fatal consequence of the problem, not the problem itself.

Well, I think that’s what has been happening with terrorism all over the XXth century. Maybe our “doctors” don’t want to take the risk to lose their votes for an “allergy”. Maybe social problems are not important enough to our politicians. Maybe it's better to choose the expensive way...(!?)

Well, what do you think about it?
