The September 29 Los Angeles Mobilization 2001/S'29-L.A. Mobilization is a coalition of Southern California justice & human rights organizations demanding a non-military solution to the current world crisis following the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center & Pentagon.

While the S'29-L.A. Mobilization remembers the innocent lives lost September 11th, we understand that the deadly results of S'11 are the consequence of the even more

deadly legacy of U.S. foreign policy over the years: the U.S. embargo & attacks against the people of Cuba, the U.S.-led invasions interventions & devastation in Korea, Vietnam, Chile, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Panamá, Grenada, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq & Yugoslavia to name a few.

Rather than the current simple-minded rhetoric of "Good vs. Evil" "Civilization vs. Barbarism" or "Wanted Dead or Alive" hyped by the George W. Bush Administration, the S'29-L.A. Mobilization calls on the U.S. Government, Military, Corporate America & U.S. society in general to reflecton, re-examine & recognize U.S. foreign policy as the cause of the S'11 attack. Globalization thru the WTO IMF & WB policies, NAFTA, FTAA & Plan Puebla Panamá, U.S. Imperialism via Plan Columbia/Plan Andino & Bush's

current war-hype, theses are some of the root causes of the S11 attack.

Rather than the current U.S. climate of racist/reactionary hate crimes against people that appear to be from the 'Middle East', the S'29-L.A. Mobilization demands that

U.S. society look at it's own legacy & current practices of genocide racism & hate against the Indigenous, African, Mexican, Central American, Asian & all 'other' Peoples who have suffered from U.S. intolerance.

Rather than cutting more U.S. civil liberties under the current guise of 'national security against terrorists', the S'29-L.A. Mobilization demands full justice & respect for all immigrants, an end to racist attacks against all People of Color, and the end to attacks against the poor, youth, women & all people regardless of sexual oriention or sexual preference.

MARCH/RALLY Route: S'29-L.A. Mobilization assembles this Saturday September 29 2001 10am at Olympic & Broadway in downtown Los Angeles, with a rally at 11am. At 12 Noon we march north on Broadway to Temple, West on Temple to in front of the Roybal Federal Building for another rally until 2pm. The rallies & march include mulitcultural politics & art.
