At 10:00 AM all you could see at the South East Corer of Balboa Park were lots a cops and lots of media people. There was Televisa from Tijuana reporter and cameraman. Fox news was here. Channel 10 had their reporter. Mostly they talked about how much police were there. The corporate reporters tried to interview the "key people" and videotaped the activists they felt should make the news. They took cutaways of the banners, and the people dressed as killer tomatoes, or Monarch Butterflies.

I just got a call from Juan Pazos an IMC reporter who says that they are at the San Diego Harbor where there are activists dressed as pirates and showing banners that say "Mutiny against Mad Science" and "Our bodies are not biotech booty." they say they can hear the helicopters and see them circling the general downtown area.

The Helicopters are from the CHP and police are dressed in full Riot Gear. Some people speculated that the riot boots are the same contraversial expensive boots that are in the range of 00 each pair. The San Diego Police have prepared to pay the officers million dollars in overtime pay. This is just Overtime pay. This is not to mention the costs of organizing these events.



Marchers are going from Balboa Park to the convention center now.
