For the last few weeks now, upstart Mountainriver.org has been building two sections involving the struggle in the Headwaters Forest, and the old growth douglas fir forest of Oregon.
Forest preservation is the number one priority of Mountainriver.org, though sections involving arctic oil and un healthy biotech foods will soon be developed.
Currently defenders in the North Fork Mattole area of the Headwaters Forest are locked down in blockades and are active in the woods, helping to slow the logging efforts until litigation can make its way, and the community can purchase 14,000 acres of the forest.
In Oregon, Cascadia Forest Defenders are maintaining the only active tree sits in the nation right now at Fall Creek and North Winberry. These timber sales are on public lands. The trees that will be cut down have been around for up to 800 years. These are our lands, will we let them be cut?
