Seeking Cable Access Producers to Spondor DNC Protest Documentary

by Kyle Yamada Wednesday, Oct. 04, 2000 at 6:11 PM
protestdnc@home.com (503) 297-3799

I have recently completed a half-hour documentary on the Democratic Convention protests, and I'm looking for people involved with cable access to sponsor it on their local stations. In the posted clip, activists deconstruct the Democrats' claims of prosperity and progress.

RealVideo: stream with RealPlayer     or download RM file (9.2 mebibytes)

"Protest in LA: Unmasking the 2000 Democratic Convention" is half-hour documentary on the issues and events surrounding the convention protests that didn't get coverage in the mainstream media. I recently completed the program after hundreds of hours of work, and I'm looking for cable access producers in the LA area to sponsor the program on their local stations sometime before the election.

My documentary looks at specific issues, such as the Clinton/Gore administration's brutalization of immigrants at the California/Mexico border, expanding sweatshop exploitation, and police repression of dissent, tying them into the larger context of corporate control of the political process. "Protest in LA" also looks at alternatives to the status quo with commentary from personalities like Granny D and Ralph Nader.

Please email me if you are interested in airing this program in your area or give me a call at (503) 297-3799. This has been a labor of love, and I'd like to get as many people as possible to see it while it is still timely. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
