The BAsics bus tour (BAsics from the Talks and Writings of Bob Avakian) returns on Wednesday to Los Angeles after traveling hundreds of miles across California. The tour connected the revolutionary vision and work of Bob Avakian, concentrated in the book BAsics with thousands of people from all walks of life: students at UC Davis where a brutal attack against Occupy became an international symbol of the repression against the entire movement, welcomed by the Libreria Martinez in Santa Ana, the largest Spanish language books seller in the U.S and then going deep into the red white and blue territory of Orange County at a swap meet and finding among them people who hate this and were hungry for what the tour was bringing. The bus went among the huge immigrant community of the Central Valley, and became the special guests of a potluck with the Unitarians in Anaheim. And everywhere there were the many many people who first learned about BAsics and Bob Avakian when the bus arrived and were drawn into grappling with the big questions that Avakian addresses about how we can actually fundamentally and radically change the world – and are now connected to this revolutionary leader, and his ongoing work, in important new ways.

To read the stories from the tour go to: http://www.revcom.us/a/261/riders_on_the_basics_bus_tour-en.html

Come and celebrate all that was accomplished. Hear the stories from those who rode the bus. Bring everyone you know to join us in this celebration and to make plans for the future! And a special invitation is going out to those the bus met in Riverside, Orange County, Pico Union and Watts and all those who contributed to making this happen.

A lot was accomplished and learned over these two intense weeks - and the pilot project will be able to contribute important experience to the launching of the National BAsics Bus Tour coming up later this year! And for those that were met along the way - the areas that were able to be part of this - new relationships were created - all of which can have a big impact on meeting our goals in 2012 - to get BA Everywhere, raising Big Money to do this, as part of building a movement for revolution.
