DESCRIPTION:
Join the discussion of the U.S./NATO attack on Libya. The brutal bombing campaign against Libya, and the bombing attacks on the home and family of Libyan leader Muamar Gaddafi, haven't weakened the determination of the Libyan people to keep the U.S. from taking over their country. During her trip there former U.S. Representative Cynthia McKinney reported on the horrendous aggression. Why have the imperialists singled out Libya for a bombing campaign? We hope you'll join us so that we can examine the reasons in the context of what's happening elsewhere in North Africa and the Middle East, and in the context of the worldwide capitalist crisis.
About the Class:
If you'd like to read an article that will be central to the discussion go to www.workers.org and click on the headline: "Libya defiant as NATO widens war"

HOWEVER - If you don't have time to pre-read, please don't let it stop you from coming! We take turns reading, stopping from time to time to discuss the material. We learn together and the class will feel comfortable for all levels of experience.
