Wednesday, March 30 · 11:00am - 12:30pm, a free, public forum, "Justice For Jeremy Marks, Videotaping Cops is NOT a crime!" on campus at Cerritos College, SS312, call Students Fight Back, at 213-251-1025 or answerla.org for more info.
Background on Jeremy Marks' case: Jeremy Marks is an 18 year-old African American high school student facing up to seven years in prison for videotaping a Los Angeles Unified School District Police officer beating another student. After peacefully videotaping the incident, Jeremy landed in jail for over eight months on charges, including “attempted lynching” for allegedly shouting at the officer. Video taken by another student proves Jeremy’s innocence. These types of actions against minority groups must come to an end! This forum presents Rochelle Pittman, in a discussion against police brutality and injustices. Join Students Fight Back, and help spread the word about police brutality in our communities.
