THIS MESSAGE IS A CALL TO ACTION.

We are the Activist Student Coalition. On WEDNESDAY, MARCH 2ND, 2011, we will be protesting the California budget cuts to education at CSU Northridge.

LOCATION: 18111 Nordhoff St. Northridge, CA 91330

GATHERING: Starting at 10AM, we will congregate in front of CSUN's

Oviatt Library at the center of campus.

TEACH-OUT: EDUCATORS, DO NOT use classroom facilities. All classes will be taught outside during the day. Faculty are also encouraged to use this time to facilitate dialogue that ties their disciplines to the social, political, and economic issues that face academia today. Promote active learning. We need to understand the struggle in order to be successful.

TRANSPORTATION: Use public transportation! If you drive, parking is

free on all streets surrounding CSUN.

FORWARD THIS! We are asking everyone to help spread the message, so please call upon your friends, family, colleagues, and contacts.

We are fighting for the future and affordability of public education and against the miseducation of our youth. Bring high school and college students, bring teachers, bring parents, bring city and state representatives, bring academic administrators, bring community members and leaders, and bring children. Although we are protesting, our goal is to establish a safe and constructive learning environment.
