DESCRIPTION:
Please join us in solidarity on Wednesday, January 12th at the Downtown Independent movie theatre to raise much-needed funds for the beautiful people of Haiti. January 12th marks the one year anniversary of the tragic earthquake that left Haiti in ruins, and in a vast effort to help the struggling people who live there, multiple fundraising events are taking place across the world as part of 100 Shows for Haiti.

Tickets are just and will get you in the door for an incredibly powerful & enlightening evening of documentary cinema, plus special guests TBA. And all the proceeds go directly to helping the people of Haiti rebuild their lives.

The movie lineup is as follows:

La Source (Trailer): Follows former Haitian resident Josue Lajeunesse\'s work to bring a clean water source closer to the village, whose residents had previously endured a physically tasking hike to a nearby mountain for water.

35 Seconds (Short Film): That\'s how long the earthquake lasted and this is a short documentary of a handful of stories from that day in January.

Lift Up (Feature Film): Follows two young brothers, Clifford Muse and Huguens Jean, as they return to Haiti, the country of their birth. They have returned home to pay their final respects and fulfill a promise to their grandfather, Andre Torchon, who passed away shortly after the quake. The stories they tell in this documentary assign faces and souls among their fellow countrymen and before the world to the 200,000+ dead as a result of the earthquake.

Also, Clara\'s Vegan Cupcakes (http://claracakes.com/) will be on site, so you\'ll be able to buy & enjoy some delicious treats in support of a very worthy cause!
