These basic Marxism classes are based on two books. We are currently working through the book What is Marxism All About? which has just be reworked and re-released by members of Workers Worlds youth group, FIST.
After finishing that book, well begin a new book entitled Low Wage Capitalism by Fred Goldstein - a Marxist analysis that examines the root causes of the current capitalist crisis, the jobless recovery, and how people can and will fight back against the attacks.
At the Saturday class, there will be a very brief presentation and review of where we have been in the series, and then an open discussion during which we will take turns reading, commenting and discussing the material. No need for pre-preparation and dont worry about missing the beginning sessions. After this, some reading will be recommended and photocopied material will be provided.
