Remembering the Riots: A Memorial Exhibit

With the assistance and support of Los Angeles City Councilmember Jan Perry and the Human Relations Commission, The Open Museum and Days of Dialogue are pleased to invite you to an informal reception and community dialogue:

Monday, July 22nd

7:00 to 9:00 pm

Dunbar Economic Development Center in the Dunbar Hotel

4225 South Central Ave

Admission is free.

The objects on display are personal items that were saved in memory of the 1992 civil unrest. Participants in this community-based exhibition share their memories of the uprisings through objects that hold personal or symbolic meaning to them. The exhibit will be on display from July 8th to July 31st

For more information, please visit us on the web at www.openmuseumla.org

The Open Museum of Los Angeles encourages communities to select objects and talk about these choices in their own words. Exhibits are moved throughout the city finding homes in neighborhood venues. The goal is to make the museum accessible to all people and to use the museum to promote dialogue and understanding.
