The Militant Labor Forum presents:

Answer the Slanders against the Cuban Revolution

Celebrate 51 Years of Working-Class Political Power

On January 1, 1959, a popular revolution led by Fidel Castro swept a U.S.-backed dictator from power in Cuba. Two years later, Cuban workers and farmers took control of their country’s resources and industry in a socialist revolution. Since then, Washington has waged an unceasing war against the Cuban people.

How has the Cuban Revolution survived half a century of aggression by the world’s most powerful imperialist rulers? How does the global capitalist depression impact Cuba? How are Cuban working people, who have established the dictatorship of the proletariat, affected differently by the crisis than working people in this country who live under the dictatorship of capital? How has the Cuban revolution confronted the legacy of racism? And how do Cuban revolutionaries answer the international slander campaign of Carlos Moore – a decades-long opponent of the revolution – that charges the Cuban government with sanctioning racism? Celebrate recent victories in the ongoing campaign to win freedom for the Cuban Five, revolutionary Cubans held unjustly in U.S. federal prisons for 11 years on various trumped-up charges.

Speaker: James Harris, Socialist Workers Party

Orador: James Harris, Socialist Workers Party
