South Central Jornaleros United for Soccer. We are raising funds to pay for soccer uniforms, registration costs, and food to participate in this year's "Copa Jornalera 2009\" Oct 18th at the Rosebowl in Pasadena. Over 500 Jornaleros coming together with their families, to address issues in the community, nurture the movement, and just have some fun.

Some thoughts:

Soccer is a metaphor for movement. People from many nations coming together on one land, organized with good strategy, engaged with one sphere, to realize a communal victory.

This is more than soccer, it is about taking what we learn as a team, and applying it to the reality of the streets when faced with ICE agents, LAPD, disunity, and wage theft.
