From: myklmcq@aol.com Date: August 17, 2009 2:02:18 AM PDT To: myklmcq@aol.com Subject: MICHAEL McCUE FOR COUNCIL DISTRICT #2 ? TOWN HALL TUESDAY NIGHT IN VALLEY GLEN!

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

(Could you please send out the message below to your lists? Particularly our Green Party supporters in council district #2 and the Valley area! Our grassroots campaign needs your netroots support! Thank you!)

It isn?t easy being a grassroots candidate for Council District #2.

The Mayor?s City Hall political machine has tossed at least three big-money candidates into this race, two of whom had to relocate to have a CD-2 address (carpetbaggers) and two of whom are professional politicians who are bailing on their current elected positions (job-hoppers) and whose possible election could cost us taxpayers millions in more special election costs.

Last Saturday, at a CD-2 Forum in Sunland/Tujunga, Michael McCue, Green Party candidate for CD-2, caught one of the big-money, machine CD-2 candidates telling a whopper of a lie and called her on it.

You can see the video here: http://ronkayela.com/2009/08/cd2-forum-...; /FONT>

Ron Kaye?s website said ?Several close observers credited Michael McCue, a Studio City Neighborhood Council member, with being the most impressive (candidate).? We want the mayor to know that the citizens of CD-2 are fed up with the status quo of machine politics and that we intend to send a true community representative to represent our Valley community.

It?s still early, but all the signs are there that Michael?s campaign has a shot at successfully representing the people?s true feelings regarding the culture of corruption at City Hall and that the voters, fed up with the staus quo, are finding the courage to send a true grassroots candidate with decades of green/progressive advocacy experience and years of experience as an elected Board Member on the Studio City Neighborhood Council, to City Council, instead of a carpet-bagging, or job-hopping professional politician who is using our community as a stepping stone to get to some other politcal goal.

Michael has chaired the SCNC Environmental Affairs Committee for over a year and has served on the Government Affairs Committee for20over two years. He has been an elected SCNC Board member for almost three years now. His supporters know him to be a progressive leader who speaks Truth to Power and brings common-sense, core values, (or Key Values) to this campaign.

Last Spring, the voters came ?this close? to placing a Neighborhood Council Board Member on City Council in CD-5. The momentum is there for a grassroots win?a win that will send a shockwave through City Hall and force the Mayor to realize once and for all that we?re just not that into him, and his culture of corruption.

Because Michael is an underdog in many people?s eyes (no corporate money backing him?scruples, you see?) and because we want to encourage even more Valley Voters to commit to his campaign, he is making a personal appeal to all Progressives, Democrats, Republicans, Green, Libertarians and Independent supporters to be present at the Town Hall being held this Tuesday night for the CD-2 candidates.

Since Michael was the only candidate to create any fireworks at the last Town Hall, we believe he will not disappoint this time as well. The excitem ent of a live Town Hall will make your day! Here are the details?

Valley Glen Neighborhood Association invites you to the COUNCIL DISTRICT #2 CANDIDATES FORUM This Tuesday evening, AUGUST 18th at 6:30 pm there will be a Town Hall for the ten candidates running in a special election for Council District #2. This is your chance to meet the candidates in person, have your questions answered and let the candidates know the priority issues. Be at Laurel Hall School, Parish Hall Located at 11909 Oxnard Street, North Hollywood, CA 91606 (THERE IS PARKING AVAILABLE IN THE MACY?S LOT ADJACENT TO LAUREL HALL SCHOOL)

, When you arrive, be sure to touch base with our lovely volunteer, Robin Gilbert, just outside the Hall. She will have campaign buttons for our people to wear to the Town Hall. The more buttons, the more supporters present, the more we can psyche the big money candidates who think they have this thing all wrapped up already.

To be a volunteer for Michael, call 818-762-4595.

Michael is endorsed by the Green Party of Los Angeles County, LAGreens and the San Fernando Valley Greens. All Green party voters are particularly urged to attend and get to know this energizing candidate who is doing so well in this race and who has the big money, machine candidates on the run!

Michael?s been fighting for us on a volunteer basis for years?let?s give him a boost right now, to keep his momentum going!

To volunteer for change, or make a donation to the campaign, be sure to visit our website at www.McCuefor2.com for more information.

Thank you, everyone, for your continued support!

VOTE GREEN! ? NOT MACHINE! MICHAEL McCUE FOR CD-2!
