LadyFest LA 2009 (Friday, January 23 ? Sunday, January 25), a FREE 3-day D.I.Y. music, art and film festival with skills share workshops and community discussions open to all folks of all ages!

LadyFest LA 09 is a dedicated space for womyn, queer and gender non-conforming people, especially of color and youth, to come together to showcase their art, music, films, and skills and build a self-reliant community through skills/knowledge sharing - breaking our dependency on systems that oppress us!

Lady Fest LA 09 is a young womyn of color community-based volunteer effort.

screening films made by: billiemarie, sam sunshine, emma s. araya, & many more!!! followed by music from: the prisitines, ladies & gents, and dj killed by synth

Sat January 24th ? workshops 1p/music 7p

workshops: self defense, oppression, bc wrenching, globalization, audio flow, the sterilization of womyn of color, sex & toys. open discussion: machismo in the punk scene. music: swing halley, all or nothing, bruise violet, potential lunatics, & condenada (Chicago)

Sun January 25th ? workshops 1p /music 7p

workshops: transfeminism, auto fluids, silk screening, gender identity, diy gynecology, immigrant rights. open discussion: community response to sexual assault. teatro arte de: wildflower, las ramonas. live music: in lak ech, lysa flores, true romance

No drugs, No alcohol, No Snappers!
