Michael Slate, host of KPFK's Beneath and Surface and Clyde Young of the Revolutionary Communist Party discuss "Away With All Gods! Unchaining the Mind and Radically Changing the World" by Bob Avakian.
Away with All Gods! is a polemic dealing wiht the nature of religious faith and its effect on society. In his book Bob Avakian offers a radical critique of organized religion, posing the question is belief in god in and of itself harmful? Avakian not only questions the nature of religious belief, he wars against the "smug arrogance of athe enlightened."
Among the topics to be discussed are why "the Bible Belt is the Lynching Belt: Slavery, White Supremacy and Religion in America" and "Religion, Fundamentalism and the Slave Mentality."
