DESCRIPTION:
The festival honors the memory and legacy of legendary human rights activists and celebrated musical artists. The Malcolm X - Arts, Culture & Education FESTIVAL is an eclectic mix of education, entertainment, culture and economic activity. Our goal is to continuously educate and reach as many cultures as possible. With each upcoming year, we plan to persistently strengthen our efforts toward the preservation of the artistic and musical legacy of Leimert Park Village. Through a designed festival that facilitates the public?s thirst for culture, education and entertainment.

Featuring live musical performances by; Gerald Wilson, Teena Marie, Dwight Trible, Norman Connors, Jean Carne, Phil UpChurch, Young MC, Shinehead, Brother J., w/ X-Clan and many more. As well as, Spoken Word and Visual Artists, a Children?s Village, Carnival Rides, a Petting Zoo, Health Fair, Black History Video Marathon, Fashion Show and Educational Workshops. Along, with special honors being presented to Horace Silver, Benny Carter, Teddy Edwards and additional artists. This is a FREE-Event for all ages to enjoy. Starting Friday, May 16th from 3pm to 10pm; Saturday & Sunday noon to 10pm
