This March marks the 5th anniversary

of the war in Iraq.

In honor of those working for peace

we are hosting a special event.

MOVIES FOR PEACE

We will be honoring one of my favorite

heroes Ron Kovic with a special award.

Slater Jewell-Kemker from Canada

whose film PEACE BEGINS won 1st prize

in the High School division of the 2007

MY HERO Film Festival will be on

hand to present her short film.

that celebrate those working for peace.

Following the short films and presentation

of PEACEMAKER AWARDS we will be

screening the entire feature film

BORN ON THE 4th OF JULY

This film is based on the best selling autobiography of Ron Kovic,a paralyzed Vietnam War veteran who became an anti-war activist. Kovic was born on July 4,1946. The book was adapted into a 1989 Academy Award winning film of the same name co-written by Oliver Stone and Ron Kovic, starring Tom Cruise as Kovic.
