Who is the YJC?

The Youth Justice Coalition (YJC) is a youth led organization dedicated to improving conditions inside the Juvenile Justice System, by providing community based alternatives to incarceration. Focusing on supportive models that encourage personal growth, and leadership development, the LAB is a program of the YJC, which will nurture the creative spark of youth in Los Angeles.

What's the LAB?

The LAB wishes to provide a creative arts program that will provide educational workshops on urban mural art, breakdancing, lyric writing, silk screening, and turntablism. Students of this program would begin a personal project that at the end of every month would be showcased to the community at a fundraising event, to ensure that the program stay alive and accessible to the youth. Allowing youth to develop and complete projects at their own pace enhances self-confidence and leadership.
