The Southern California Library will offer a brown-bag training and networking session on accessing grant funding for our communities on Thursday, September 28, 2006, 11:30 a.m.?1 p.m., at the Library, located at 6120 S. Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles (between Slauson and Gage). The session will provide an overview of how to use the Foundation Center?s online grant databases The Foundation Directory Online and Grants to Individuals Online and feature a presentation on what funders look for by Vera de Vera, Director of Grants with the California Community Foundation, as well as provide an opportunity to network with staff from other nonprofit organizations.
The Foundation Center maintains the most comprehensive database available on U.S. grantmakers and their grants. Users can search detailed profiles of all active U.S. foundations, as well as an extensive file of recent grants awarded by the nation?s top funders.
