Join the Party for Socialism and Liberation this Friday for a branch meeting where we'll talk about socialist Cuba - how the revolution began and the people's resistance to recent U.S. threats. We'll also hear an educational about how capitalism has contributed to recent environmental disasters in California.

* Cuban resistance to U.S. threats: The U.S. imperialists have tried to overthrow the Cuban revolution since its triumph in 1959. Recently, Bush unveiled a new plan to "assist" the transition to a "free Cuba." Hear about these plans to return Cuba to a neo-colonial capitalist state and what the Cubans are doing to maintain their socialist society.

* Moncada - Roots of the Cuban revolution: Around the world, July 26 is celebrated as the opening salvo of the Cuban socialist revolution. Learn about the heroic attack on the Moncada barracks in 1953 and how the Cuban revolutionaries, led by Fidel Castro, turned the initial military defeat into a revolutionary victory just years later.

* Global warming, capitalism and wildfires: As wildfires rage throughout Southern California, hear a working class, Marxist analysis of the causes of global warming and its links to more intense and dangerous wildfires.
