DESCRIPTION:
download PDF (294.1 kibibytes) Come join Matt and Haruko of M.Y.Manifesto at the South Central Farm to write your own manifesto. Manifestos are not only for Karl Marx, Valerie Solanas, Gandhi, or the Unabomber. We each have a spot within ourselves that seeks change. Now is your chance to extract that truth within yourself.

Noontime, Sunday April 2nd, come take a walk through the farm, breathe the fresh air, eat lunch from the market stands, and get energized for the work you're about to do.

The workshop will begin at 12:30. Here we shall dive into traditional and unusual manifestos, view the world in a new way, and help spark ideas for your own manifesto. Bring your pens and favorite journal, because during the latter part of the class we will put our creativity into practice. By the end you will have written a manifesto or have made a great start. Later, we will collect everyone's work and publish it online at http://www.m-y-manifesto.net/

Who are the South Central Farmers and why do they need a fundraiser? In the middle of gray warehouses and busy train tracks, there lies a 14-acre oasis of farmland. It is the South Central Farm: The USA's largest urban garden, a nonprofit tilled by over 350 families, one providing food and green space for a self-sustaining community. Due to legal ambiguities and back-handed deals, the farmers are currently fighting eviction, and in great danger of watching their livelihood become demolished into yet another warehouse. For more details please visit http://www.southcentralfarmers.com

Come join a great event with dynamic energy. Invite your friends, spread the word, and we hope to see everyone there.

Thank you
