Women\'s Rights, Warlords, and the US Occupation of Afghanistan

Celebrate International Women\'s Day with Afghan Women\'s Mission as Malalai

Joya Kicks off Nation-wide Tour in Los Angeles

The BBC recently called Malalai Joya \"the most famous woman in Afghanistan.\" Joya is a 27 year old Afghan women\'s rights activist who publicly denounced US-backed warlords and druglords. She is one of the

most popular members of Afghanistan\'s new parliament, and has survived four

assassination attempts for her courage. Joya represents the on-going resistence of Afghan women against war and fundamentalism.

In a recent interview, Joya said, \"They will kill me but they will not kill my voice because it will be the voice of all Afghan women. You can cut the flower, but you cannot stop the coming of spring.\"

Malalai Joya will kick off her nation-wide tour in Los Angeles.

WHEN: Monday March 6th, 7 PM

WHERE: Immanuel Presbyterian Church, Westminister Chapel. The Chapel is

located at 663 South Berendo near the corner of Wilshire and Vermont.
