Sister Dianna Ortiz, an Ursuline Nun from New Mexico and survivor of torture in

Guatemala by both Guatemalan and US goverment forces, has written a memoir of her experience to illustrate the reality of the practice of torture.

"One of the most amazing human journeys I have ever read."

Sister Helen Prejean, author of "Dead Man Walking"

"It is said that God graces those who suffer profoundly with profound

insight . . . Sister Dianna Ortiz is a woman of uncommon wisdom and

courage."

Kerry Kennedy Cuomo, Human Rights Activist

Sister Ortiz's new book presents her story of faith, friendship, and

the resolve to show that, at the core of the human spirit, there is a

force stronger than violence, more powerful than fear.

Sister Dianna Ortiz will be available to sign copies of her new book

after her talk.

Coffee and refreshments to be served.
